Girls Night Out

My first review....YAYYYYY!!! On this past Tuesday I went to the Freedom Church here in my hometown to their annual Girls Night Out. It was their kick off to the Sisterhood Bible Study Group. I've had the desire to go out and become involved in other small group ministries outside of my church, so I came across this Girls Night Out event on Facebook. It peeked my interest and I decided to sign up & attend. Oh boy am I glad I decided to go!

The overall theme for the evening was "Fight For It". The event started off with a great praise and worship & prayer. It was a completely different atmosphere for me, but after a little while (the initial shock lol) I joined in with the praise and worship. I remember looking out into the crowd & to see all the women praising & worshipping God was so exciting to see. I literally saw Psalms 150:6 in the flesh!

The message was brought by Lanair Lindo from Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. Her title & scripture text for the evening was "The Fight is Fixed" & Judges 6:14-16, 7:7-16. In this passage we read about Gideon and how he won the war against Midianites. In the message, she gave us five tips to win the battle just as Gideon did in the Bible, I have listed them below:
1. Filter you circle
2. Identify your battle (ie. depression, lying, sickness, etc.)
3. Get REAL (What do you need to get real with God about?)
4. Hear clearly (Are you creating space and time to hear from God?)
5. Trade strategies (trade YOUR strategies for God's strategies) -My favorite tip!

Gideon and his army of 300 men were able to defeat a 135,000 Midianite army. You read correctly, 300 vs. 135,000! How you might ask? Gideon Filtered his circle (down to 300 men), Identified his battle (Midianites), Got real (he admitted his fear to God), Heard clearly (from God), and Traded strategies (he followed God's instructions). If Gideon can do it, so can you!
Lanair Lindo ended with a question and a statement; "What is the 135,000 that you are looking at? & Spoiler alert! The five tips spell FIGHT!"

After she ended we received a gift to take home with us, a mini boxing glove. To remind us to FIGHT! I wrote a couple of encouragement scriptures on mine. I was so glad that I went to this event. I had a need and God met that need, as He does every time. Once the service ended, there were vendors, refreshments, and a photo station set up. I will be going back again, amazing job Freedom Church SC!!! Check out the pictures below......

  3. Yes! Powerful truth and one that is gravely neglected by many. I pray that you will continue to build yourself an ark of safety by continuing to participate in this truth for life. Thanks for allowing truth to flow from your life.
